How to Crochet Super Sharp Chevrons

super sharp crochet chevrons

If you want to crochet chevrons that are on point, look no further than this sharp chevron stitch. (Say THAT ten times fast!) The points are dramatic, thanks to strategically placed ch-1 stitches at the peaks and valleys. The subtle shell stitch brings balance with its somewhat delicate effect.

Is there a mistake in the pattern with the rows ending in a double crochet?

Is there a mistake in the pattern? There are several references to ch-1 space of the shell, which I don't see any of, and also to sc in each of next 2 ch-2 spaces (not in shell), which I also don't see any of. Is it me?
