Create versatile designs and catch the eye in fun new ways with modular knitting! Join Artyarns founder Iris Schreier and learn a trending style that uses smaller knitted shapes such as triangles, squares and diamonds to create breathtaking motifs and multi-directional designs. During class, you’ll explore the world of modular knitting by creating three exclusive Iris Schreier accessory designs: the Curved Wedges Cowl, the Zigzag Shawl and the Center-Increase Triangle Shawl. Along the way, Iris will demonstrate the cast-ons, increases, directional knitting, unique shapes and other techniques you’ll need for each. Plus, you’ll find out how to modify each design to create a completely new project that suits the style you’re looking for.
Iris Schreier
Iris Schreier learned to knit at a young age, but it wasn't until later in life that she became a passionate knitter and designer. In 2004, she founded Artyarns with the goal of producing sophisticated, hand-dyed yarns that elevate the color and quality of projects. You can find many of her designs published in respected magazines such as Vogue Knitting, and in her books, including Modular Knits: New Techniques for Today's Knitters. As an instructor, Iris travels all over the country, leading workshops on a variety of knitting subjects.
